As we have learned about different chemical reactions and the students begin their Chemistry Journey, the students participated in the “Eating Nails For Breakfast Lab”.

 In this experiment the students separated iron(Fe) from breakfast cereal using a water/ cereal solution and a magnet. They also showed the traits of cereal having magnetic properties since they include trace amounts of Iron (Fe) as they used the magnets on a dry cereal and flakes of cereal that were floating in water in order to manipulate their movements.
